The term "abduction" can be explained as the crime of taking a person away by force, violence, persuasion, fraud, etc. Originally, the term was specifically used for the taking away of women and children, but now it is also used for male adults. It is different from kidnapping, which is particularly associated with force or threat.
One example of an abduction is where a person illegally holds a woman in detention with the aim of marriage, prostitution, concubinage, etc. Another example is when one of the parents involved in a relationship case moves the child intentionally to an area that doesn’t fall within the jurisdiction of the court.
