Community Sentence Explained

Community sentencing is a type of alternative sentencing.

The community service that is required for community sentences may include cleaning up trash in parks, removing graffiti, or otherwise serving the community.

Crimes that may result in community sentencing include benefit fraud, petty property damage, and other light crimes. More serious crimes, however, are usually accompanied by heavier and more serious sentences. Also, for people who are repeat offenders, the sentences are likely to be more severe.
