Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a United States federal agency that is tasked with enforcing laws and conducting investigations relating to border security and illegal immigration. This agency, also known as ICE, aims to prevent terrorism and the flow of illegal persons, materials, or weapons across the border into the United States.
Although the United States has a border, and has laws about who and what can come into the country, these laws are not always respected. Immigration and Enforcement is the federal agency. There job is to uphold customs and immigration laws. This agency is also tasked with finding vulnerabilities in border security, and attempting to remedy them. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is one of a number of federal law enforcement agencies. It is part of the Department of Homeland Security.
