Suspended sentence refers to the sentence applied by a judge to a person accused of a crime, which will not be enforced/served and get suspended if the accused agrees to do certain services, agrees to stay out of trouble, agrees to pay compensation to the parties harmed, or agrees to meet other stipulations.



Suspended Sentence Explained

If the defendant fails to abide by the conditions set for the suspended sentence, then the sentence may be enforced. Different state laws have different rules regarding suspended sentencing. Penalties on the defendant may also be enforced if he or she becomes involved in other crimes.
