Patent Drawing

Definition of Patent Drawing

A patent drawing is a drawing that is legally required to accompany every patent application. The drawing consists of specifications of the product being proposed for a patent, including the length, width and depth of each aspect of the product. Arrows and lines are used throughout to indicate which part of the product is being described. All parts of the product will either be numbered or have an accompanying alphabetical letter for ease of reference.
