The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act is a legal requirement that is placed on all businesses in the USA, which requires those that are shutting down or relocating to notify their employees at least 60 days in advance.
If a company does not comply with the WARN Act, they can be held financially liable to their employees for the lost opportunity of being able to set up alternate employment ahead of losing a job due to dissolution or relocation of the business.
