The term corrector is derived from Latin, which means “set right, to make straight or bring into order.” In a general sense, corrector can be any person who correct mistakes. Corrector also means to punish or scold in order to reform or improve.
When a person speaks or otherwise communicates with another person with an aim to point out an error and correct it, they are a corrector. The term corrector is also used for different offices and titles. For example, there are officials known as correctors who are responsible for regulation and administration of a specific region.
