Corroboration can simply be defined as the support or confirmation of evidence or a claim through authoritative, credible, and independent evidence. The term also means detailed description of means and processes involved in record or document validation.
Corroborating evidences are those evidences which support the existence of each other. This can be explained with an example. W is a witness who testifies that he saw X bumping his car into a green colored vehicle, while Y is another witness who testifies that after the examination of X’s car he saw green color on it.
