Duty to repair can be categorized under tenant-landlord relationship. It refers to the responsibility of the landlord to make repairs to the property so that the severity of the loss is not increased.



Duty to Repair Explained

Repairs can either be permanent or temporary. Example of a permanent repair include fixing the swimming pool and temporary repair include fixing the roof to prevent rain water from getting in. Permanent repairs are usually not urgent. Temporary repairs are (most of the time) urgent in nature.
