A good is an item that can be bought, sold and/or held as personal property. Examples of goods include jewelry, food, clothing, automobile parts, electronic equipment, shoes, furniture, etc. There are many different types of goods. Goods are often exchanged for money in commerce. Many people make their livings by selling goods.

Goods are basically just things that a person can own. Sometimes, a good is something that can be in existence for a very long time, such as a diamond necklace, and other times, a good may only be in existence for a short amount of time. Examples of goods that may only be in existence for a short amount of time include food that is sold for consumption or firewood that is sold as a heat source. People buy many different types of goods for a wide variety of purposes.
