Interdiction is the legal restraint of a person from making their own decisions due to mental incapacity. The guardian of a mentally incapacitated person would be the person to affect the interdiction. This can happen by the choice of the person who is mentally incapacitated, or by order of the court.
When an interdiction occurs, the person who was interdicted will not be able to have direct access to their own funds, and the guardian will make decisions as to how the money is spent to ensure that the daily living needs are met.
