The United States Code (USC) is the comprehensive set of all federal laws on the books and active in the United States. The USC also includes codified laws of every law on the books across the nation. It is used as the definitive set of laws and referred to as such. On a state level, the USC is also considered the comprehensive set of laws on the state books.
